We've just been given the opportunity to take a group of photographers on a 2-week voyage to some of the Australian and New Zealand sub-Antarctic islands this coming November. This includes the legendary Macquarie Island (a UNESCO World Heritage site) as well as the Snares, Campbell and Auckland islands.
The wildlife in these locations is magical: they have been described by some as The Galapagos of the Southern Ocean. We expect to encounter many many birds (including hopefully the rare Snares Penguin) at sea as well as on land, as well as seals and cetaceans. As is common on our odysseys we would be helping you with the digital processing side of photography as well as giving help in taking the photos to start with.
Unlike our previous voyages to sub-Antarctic islands like South Georgia, this voyage will not require flights to/from South America. It would start in New Zealand and finish in Hobart.
While we're preparing a more-complete trip description, please let us know if you might be interested in joining us. Please don't hesitate: despite the relatively short notice between now and November, we expect spaces to fill fast.
